Rep. Comer tells Newsmax: Investigation into Biden continues in pursuit of truth

After Hunter Biden’s closed-door testimony on Wednesday, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer emphasized to Newsmax that the investigation into the Bidens will persist until the truth is revealed: What was the nature of the business that earned the Bidens nearly $30 million?

Dismissing criticisms from Democrat colleagues who called the investigation insignificant, Comer asserted on “Rob Schmitt Tonight” that the investigation will continue until the American people learn the truth.

Comer, who has gathered substantial evidence pointing to pay-for-play schemes during his chairmanship, stated, “We’ve had to fight for the truth every step of the way. We’ve battled the DOJ, the IRS, the Biden legal team, and the White House.”

He affirmed, “We will keep fighting to bring the truth to the American people. I want the public to see Hunter Biden and his associates and decide for themselves. Because the story just doesn’t add up.”

“At the end of the day, the Bidens have received nearly $30 million from foreign adversaries. And we still don’t know what they did! We don’t know their business, the products or services they offered to earn $30 million from enemies abroad. That’s what the American people want to know, and that’s the focus of this investigation,” Comer concluded.

Following the hearing, Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., who was present during Hunter’s testimony, told NBC News that there was no evidence of an influence-peddling scheme between Hunter Biden and President Joe Biden. He claimed it was the Republicans, not the Democrats, who were hesitant about Hunter testifying in public and attempted to prevent it.

Connolly invited, “go ahead and hold a public hearing. We welcome it.”
