Rep. Comer tells Newsmax that China wired money directly to Hunter, avoiding shell company

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., told Newsmax on Wednesday that the bank wire of $250,000 from Chinese nationals that listed President Joe Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, as the recipient address is the first evidence of payments to Biden’s son Hunter Biden that had not gone through a shell company.

Comer, chair of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, told “Rob Schmitt Tonight” that the discovery revealed Tuesday prompted him to issue subpoenas for the personal bank records of Hunter Biden and Jim Biden, the president’s brother.

“The great thing about the wire that we disclosed yesterday – I subpoenaed that earlier this week – it was a direct wire from the Chinese nationals to Hunter Biden for a quarter of a million dollars,” Comer said. “That’s the first wire that did not go through a shell company.

“Now we’re in the process of subpoenaing Hunter Biden and Jim Biden’s personal bank records. So, this is evidence that some of these wires did go to their personal bank accounts, despite the fact that they’ve been arguing that they didn’t.”

Comer on Thursday is set to preside over the Oversight Committee’s first hearing of the impeachment inquiry into allegations of corruption involving the president to benefit himself, his son, and other members of his family.

Comer said he also has been pursuing the Joe Biden’s personal bank records. Comer said the House will likely end up in court trying to get them, “unless the Bidens decide to do what Joe Biden said he would do when he was a candidate for president, and that is to be the most transparent president in history.”

“Even though he applauded the Ways and Means committee releasing Donald Trump’s taxes, he refuses to release his family’s personal bank records,” Comer said. “Instead, they have a war room in the White House to attack me, to attack [House Judiciary Chair] Jim Jordan [R-Ohio].

“If they wanted to make us look bad, just show us the bank records, and if there’s nothing in there, then we’ll look bad.”
