Rep. Comer Urges Newsmax for Next President to ‘Clean House’ at Department of Justice
Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., emphasized the need for a president who will overhaul the Department of Justice and ensure the credibility of the nation’s intelligence agencies during an interview with Newsmax on Thursday.
Speaking on “Newsline,” Comer, chair of the House Oversight Committee, criticized the DOJ under Attorney General Merrick Garland for impeding the Biden influence-peddling investigation through obstruction tactics.
Comer stated, “If the American people desire a Department of Justice and intelligence agencies that they can rely on, then they must elect someone willing to clean house and appoint honest, transparent, and respectable individuals to these roles.”
According to Comer, criminal referrals concerning Hunter Biden and Jim Biden have been ignored by Garland, despite ongoing investigations by various federal agencies. Comer believes that if Garland fails to address these issues, it should become a focal point in the upcoming presidential election.
Comer acknowledged the challenges faced by his committee but expressed satisfaction with their investigative efforts. He accused the Department of Justice of neglecting Biden-related crimes and engaging in a cover-up.
Regarding future actions, Comer stated, “We have a hostile Department of Justice. If this administration fails to act, the next one will.”
