Rep. D’Esposito criticizes Biden for changing stance on Israel, speaks to Newsmax
According to Rep. Anthony D’Esposito, President Joe Biden’s threat to withhold weapons from Israel in response to the incursion into the southern Gaza city of Rafah demonstrates his inconsistency in action after making speeches in support of Israel. D’Esposito shared these thoughts with Newsmax during a Sunday interview.
D’Esposito, a New York Republican, criticized Biden for making decisions that put Israel at a disadvantage despite publicly expressing support for the country. He emphasized the importance of dismantling Hamas and preventing their regrouping and strengthening in the region.
He also mentioned Biden’s declining poll numbers, especially in states like Michigan and Minnesota, which may be influencing his actions regarding Israel in an attempt to appease certain demographics.
D’Esposito highlighted the global perception of the United States as weak under Biden’s leadership, which is being closely observed by countries like Iran, Russia, and China. The congressman suggested that Biden’s lack of action is a cause for concern on an international scale.
Looking ahead to the upcoming election, D’Esposito predicted that Biden will face challenges due to issues like the crisis at the southern border and the struggling economy. He mentioned that House Republicans’ attempts to address these problems through legislation have been thwarted by Biden and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
In addition to his political commentary, D’Esposito mentioned a letter he sent to the president of Columbia University regarding commencement ceremonies for students in his district. He expressed frustration over families not being able to attend graduation events after spending significant amounts of money on their children’s education.
