Rep. Donalds tells Newsmax that Biden should refrain from discussing taxes in light of Hunter’s controversies

President Joe Biden has stated that if he is reelected, he will allow the tax cuts passed during the Trump administration to expire in 2025, resulting in higher taxes for most Americans.

Biden has also indicated that he plans to implement a proposal that he believes will not increase taxes for individuals earning less than $400,000 annually.

Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., expressed to Newsmax on Thursday that Biden is not in a position to discuss taxes with Americans.

“Why is Joe Biden discussing taxes with me? His own son has evaded taxes, and I didn’t see him ensuring that his son paid his taxes,” Donalds, a potential candidate to be Donald Trump’s running mate in November, said on “The Chris Salcedo Show.” “But now he wants to interfere with everyone else’s finances?

“This is typical behavior of elitist liberals. They want to access other people’s money while finding ways to benefit themselves.”

Donalds mentioned that there is no rationale for letting the tax cuts expire, as federal tax revenue is surging – it was $4.4 trillion in 2023, down 9% from the record high of $4.9 trillion in 2022, according to the Tax Foundation.

“They simply want to remove it because Donald Trump was the one who implemented it,” Donalds stated. “We are currently operating under the most beneficial tax policy in U.S. history. The federal government is generating more revenue than ever before. People are retaining more of their income. So, what’s the issue?

“The Trump tax cuts should be extended. In fact, they should be made permanent. The Democratic Party needs to grasp that sound tax policies benefit all Americans and our economy. When you have a tax policy that benefits poor, middle-income, and wealthy Americans, you can’t employ class warfare.”
