Rep. Gimenez tells Newsmax that Biden lacks a plan to evacuate Americans amid chaos in Haiti

The Biden administration has failed to create a plan to rescue individuals from the gang wars and chaos in Haiti. This is in stark contrast to Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis, who successfully sent a rescue flight to the country, as stated by Rep. Carlos Gimenez in an interview with Newsmax on Friday.

During the interview on “Wake Up America,” Gimenez criticized the White House for deliberately allowing the southern border crisis to persist, stating: “They want this… they know how to stop it, but they refuse to do so.”

Gimenez commended Gov. DeSantis for taking action to protect Florida and its residents. In addition to sending a flight to Haiti to rescue Floridians, the governor dispatched over 100 officers from various agencies to safeguard the border.

Despite challenges posed by closed ports, violence, and gang threats, DeSantis’ efforts managed to evacuate 14 individuals from Haiti. The collapse of Haiti was predicted given the country’s turmoil post-president assassination three years ago, yet the Biden administration failed to adequately plan for the evacuation of Americans.

Gimenez also criticized President Biden for exacerbating the crisis at the southern border, citing intentional actions that led to overwhelming Border Patrol agencies. He expressed doubt that relief will be forthcoming unless it becomes politically detrimental for Biden.
