Rep. Good tells Newsmax: Will win primary even without Trump endorsement
Rep. Bob Good, in a Newsmax interview, confidently stated that he will emerge victorious in the Republican primary in Virginia, despite facing opposition from his opponent endorsed by former President Donald Trump.
“I have been committed to securing the border, reducing spending, and safeguarding our constitutional freedoms,” Good stated during an interview on “Wake Up America.” “I am a staunch supporter of President Trump. I am certain that I will have his endorsement on June 19th after winning this primary. The people of the 5th District elected me to fulfill their needs over the past three and a half years. They did not require an endorsement to decide whether to support me. I believe that the majority of the district supports me, and I expect this to be reflected in the primary results.”
Despite Trump endorsing Virginia Republican state Sen. John McGuire in a recent post on Truth Social, Good remains confident in his support base in the 5th Congressional District of Virginia.
In response to Trump’s endorsement of McGuire, Good stated, “The overwhelming majority of elected officials and Republican leaders across the district, as well as grassroots supporters, stand by me. The people in the district recognize that my actions over the past three and a half years align with their values. The 5th District of Virginia has a different perspective compared to Washington. The qualities for which I am criticized in Washington are traits that are celebrated in our district. I am confident that this will be reflected in the election results.”
