Rep. Green tells Newsmax: Reports of Ammo Halt to Israel are Just a ‘Rumor’

Homeland Security Committee Chair Mark Green, R-Tenn., informed Newsmax on Monday that there has been no official communication to his panel about a potential ammunition halt to Israel by the Biden administration, labeling it as a “rumor.”

While speaking on “The Record With Greta Van Susteren,” Green mentioned that the Biden administration lacks effective communication, making it difficult to confirm such reports.

According to a report over the weekend, citing Israeli officials, the Biden administration allegedly paused a shipment of U.S.-made ammunition to Israel last week as a protest against Israel’s plan to invade Rafah and eliminate strongholds of Hamas terrorists.

“The rumor has been circulating, but no official confirmation has been provided regarding any halt,” Green stated. “This would not align with the expectations of the American people, especially following Congress’ recent approval of billions in aid to Israel.”

President Biden signed a foreign aid package late last month which included $26 billion for Israel, $15 billion of which was allocated for military aid.

Regardless of the rumors, Green expressed skepticism towards the administration.

“This administration has a history of poor communication with us,” Green added. “They may engage with the Intelligence committee, Chair of Armed Services, and Foreign Affairs, but my expectations for them to inform us about any decision changes are quite low.”
