Rep. Hern Expresses Disappointment as Only Red States Aid in Border Protection
Republican Rep. Kevin Hern expressed his disappointment that only “red states” are sending help to Texas to address illegal immigration at the southern border. He argued that every state in the nation is a border state and should be taking action. Hern criticized mayors in cities like New York City and Chicago for complaining about the presence of illegal immigrants in their cities, stating that places like Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Southern California have been dealing with this issue for years. Hern blamed President Joe Biden for the situation, stating that it is a result of his poor job performance. He also called for the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Hern emphasized that the problem lies with Democratic leadership, citing past pushback from Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi against funding border security during the Trump administration. He stated that under Trump, the number of immigrants entering the country was dropping, but now there is a full-scale invasion from 106 different countries. Hern criticized the lack of action from the Senate in addressing border security and highlighted the Republican-led House’s effort to pass measures like building the border wall.
