Rep. James Comer urges Newsmax to release the Hur Tapes
Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., the chair of the House Oversight Committee told Newsmax on Tuesday he wants the tapes of Special Counsel Robert Hur questioning President Joe Biden to be released.
Comer expressed his belief that releasing the tapes could provide further insight into when Biden became aware of the classified documents.
“I think the American people should see transparency,” Comer told “American Agenda.” “They should see the tapes of how Joe Biden answered these questions.”
Comer pointed out the lack of hesitation from Democrats in releasing depositions during the investigation of the Jan. 6 attacks.
“Why won’t the White House do the same regarding Joe Biden’s mishandling of documents?” Comer questioned.
Based on evidence, Comer asserted that Biden had knowledge of the classified documents months before they were publicly disclosed.
“We believe these documents were discovered months before Mar-a-Lago was ever raided,” Comer referenced the discovery of classified documents at Former President Donald Trump’s residence.
Furthermore, Comer noted that Hunter Biden was living in Biden’s house while the documents were stored.
“A couple of these documents could’ve been sent in the form of an e-mail from the president’s son … to some of the people who were sending him millions of dollars,” Comer explained. “There are a lot of questions unanswered.”
Comer criticized the White House for obstructing the release of the tapes by refusing to allow the National Archives to turn them over.
“Obstruction by the White House is an impeachable offense as well,” Comer added.
