Rep. Jordan Demands FBI Official Testify on Retaliation Against Whistleblower
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio., has requested a senior FBI official to testify behind closed doors about alleged retaliation against whistleblowers, as reported by The Washington Times.
On Wednesday, Jordan asked Jeffery B. Veltri, the special-agent-in-charge of the Miami field office, to address concerns regarding the FBI’s handling of security clearance suspension and revocation procedures.
In a letter to Veltri, Jordan mentioned that the Committee received information indicating Veltri’s involvement in security clearance investigations involving FBI whistleblowers such as Marcus Allen and Garret O’Boyle.
Jordan also referenced a report from the Department of Justice Office of Inspector General highlighting issues related to the handling of whistleblower security clearances by the FBI and other agencies.
Furthermore, Jordan pointed out that the charges against Allen and O’Boyle were ultimately deemed unfounded, raising questions about the process followed by the FBI.
Veltri was previously instructed to remove anti-Trump content from his social media accounts, which raised concerns among whistleblowers regarding his impartiality as the head of the Miami field office.
