Rep. Jordan Tells Newsmax: Getting Caught Up on the Lies of the Intelligence Community
Republicans are working to catch up on the lies spread by Democrats, much like catching up on TV shows. House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, told Newsmax on Monday that he is trying to address false information from the intelligence community during the Obama era.
Jordan and another GOP chair sent a letter to current CIA Director William Burns regarding the actions of John Brennan, the previous CIA Director under the Obama administration. Brennan allegedly initiated efforts to involve foreign countries in spying on Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign months earlier than previously acknowledged by the intelligence community.
“There’s been a lot of issues with the Intel community and the information they have put out,” Jordan stated on “Rob Schmitt Tonight.” “We want to uncover the truth about these matters.”
Jordan is specifically referring to a recent report alleging that Brennan “illegally mobilized foreign intelligence agencies to target Trump advisors before the summer of 2016,” which sparked the Russia collusion narrative.
“We want to know if they were paying foreign sources or encouraging them to spy on President Trump’s campaign,” Jordan elaborated. “We have seen a pattern of misconduct, from spying on the campaign to the Mueller investigation, impeachment, and other actions. The truth often turns out to be worse than we initially thought.”
