Rep. Mace: Everyone Would Agree to Be Trump’s Running Mate Any Day

According to Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., in an interview with Politico on Friday, she stated that anyone would agree to run alongside former President Donald Trump, even though she was not on his vice presidential shortlist.

Mace, who recently endorsed Trump over former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, explained that while she does not fully align with any one candidate, she believes Republicans must “unite” behind Trump after initially staying out of the endorsement process.

Trump recently confirmed a list of potential running mates, including some of his former rivals and even former Democrat House Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, but Mace was not included.

When asked if she would accept Trump’s offer to be his running mate, Mace replied, “Anyone would say yes, but when was the last time a House member became vice president? It just doesn’t happen. I do see an opportunity to focus on women’s issues in ’24.”

Mace pointed out that the last House member to be vice president was Dick Cheney under George W. Bush, and before him was Gerald Ford, chosen by Richard Nixon after Spiro Agnew’s resignation in 1973.

She predicted that Trump would win the South Carolina GOP presidential primary on Saturday by a significant margin, estimating around 25-28 percentage points.
