Rep. Mark Green Warns Americans are in Danger Due to Border Situation
According to Rep. Mark Green, R-Tenn., in an interview with Newsmax every American is in danger due to the Biden administration’s lenient immigration policies and the wide open southern border.
“There’s no longer a requirement for proof of identity to enter the United States,” Green stated during an appearance on Newsmax’s “The Record with Greta Van Susteren.” “Individuals can simply show up, provide a name, and they are allowed to board a flight. However, Americans are required to prove their identity through Real ID to fly within the country. This lack of border control is alarming, and TSA is allowing individuals in based on just a name, as directed by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.”
Green expressed concern about the 1.8 million known “gotaways” and highlighted that the actual number is likely much higher due to Border Patrol agents being focused on processing migrants at crossing points rather than monitoring the border. He emphasized that the unknown numbers could include dangerous individuals like terrorists or spies, posing a significant risk to the safety of Americans.
As the chair of the House Homeland Security Committee, Green explained the criteria for individuals to be added to the terror watch list, emphasizing the importance of known associations in the process.
Regarding the effectiveness of the terror watch list, Green mentioned that it provides valuable information to FBI task forces, enabling them to track down individuals who pose a threat. He also acknowledged the importance of local law enforcement being able to access the database through fusion centers, emphasizing the value of maintaining and utilizing the list to enhance security measures.
