Rep. Meuser Disagrees with Nikki Haley on GOP Spending, Tells Newsmax

During a recent Republican National Committee 2024 primary debate, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley partly blamed Congressional Republicans and former President Donald Trump for the nation’s economic woes due to government spending. However, Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., disagreed with her assessment, stating that she “doesn’t know her numbers” and that she “simply didn’t understand the budgetary approach.” Meuser argued that Haley was wrong about the amount of debt added during Trump’s term, stating that it was $6 trillion, with $4 trillion going towards COVID relief. He also disputed her criticism of earmarks, stating that they do not add to the deficit. Meuser praised former Vice President Mike Pence’s performance in the debate and highlighted the accomplishments of the Trump administration.
