Rep. Meuser Tells Newsmax to Trust Trump’s Jury
Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., told Newsmax on Monday that supporters of former President Donald Trump should have “faith” in the jury system as the business records trial against him comes to a close.
Meuser, who was present for the trial on Monday and will be there on Tuesday, expressed his concerns about the prosecution’s witnesses, calling them “highly suspicious” and urging the jury to take note.
“Hopefully it goes the right way. We gotta have faith in, you know, our jury system,” Meuser said. “You know it’s just incredible. They have not proven a crime. They have not prosecuted really anything that remotely resembles a crime. They haven’t even named it. And every one of their witnesses is highly suspicious and lacks any resemblance of credibility.
“Again, outside of that, you know, they got a great case,” he added.
Meuser is among the House Republicans who have traveled to New York to show support for Trump and witness what he described as a “frivolous case” unfolding in a “circus” of a courtroom. He emphasized the importance of being there to speak on Trump’s behalf, especially with the constraints of the gag order imposed on the former president.
