Rep. Meuser Urges Newsmax to Trust Trump Jury
According to Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., speaking to Newsmax on Monday, supporters of Donald Trump must have “faith” in the jury system as the business records trial against the former president nears its end.
Meuser, who has been present during the trial and will continue to observe on Tuesday, stated on “Carl Higbie FRONTLINE” that the prosecution’s witnesses against Trump are “highly suspicious,” and he hopes the jury sees it that way.
“Hopefully it goes the right way. We gotta have faith in our jury system,” Meuser expressed. “They have not proven a crime. They have not prosecuted really anything that remotely resembles a crime. They haven’t even named it. And every one of their witnesses is highly suspicious and lacks any resemblance of credibility.
“Outside of that, they got a great case,” he humorously added.
Meuser is among the House Republicans who have traveled to New York to show support for Trump and witness what he described as a “frivolous case” in a courtroom that is a “circus.” Republicans like Meuser are there to speak out on behalf of Trump, who is under a gag order that restricts his ability to comment.
“Here they hit President Trump with a gag order as well. And again, talk about trying to undermine democracy, doesn’t do it to the other side at all, which is highly unusual,” Meuser noted. “So, you know, we need to be there to speak for him, although he does a pretty good job speaking for himself even with the gag order.”
