Rep. Ogles Urges Newsmax to Rename Airport in Order to Display a Positive Image of the World During Trump’s Presidency
Republicans and Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., should show support for a bill to rename Washington Dulles International Airport in honor of former President Donald Trump, as stated by Tennessee GOP Rep. Andy Ogles in an interview with Newsmax on Thursday.
During an appearance on “Wake Up America,” Ogles, along with several other Republicans, advocated for changing the name of one of the D.C. area’s primary airports to Donald J. Trump International Airport, emphasizing the importance of being bold in their actions despite potential Senate obstacles.
“Even without a clear path in the Senate, we must always aim high,” Ogles asserted. “We have a duty to honor the previous president and pave the way for future victories in elections.”
Highlighting the importance of projecting strength as a nation, Ogles emphasized the need to honor Trump’s legacy and show support for his policies as a means to enhance America’s global position.
He urged Speaker Johnson to back the bill introduced by Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Pa., and make more assertive decisions to advance the legislation.
