Rep. Owens Tells Newsmax: Trump’s Influence on GOP Unity is Unprecedented

Rep. Burgess Owens, R-Utah, shared his optimism about the upcoming 2024 presidential election, highlighting the unifying influence of former President Donald Trump within the Republican Party.

Speaking to Newsmax on Saturday, Owens emphasized Trump’s significance in the current political landscape.

“We’re witnessing something in 2024 that I believe will be remembered as historic,” Owens said.

“It has been a long time since we, the people, have come together with a shared goal of improving our country and becoming a better union.”

Owens described Trump as a catalyst for unity.

“He brings positivity and policies that resonate with individuals who may not have considered supporting the Republican Party before. I am excited to be a part of this movement,” Owens expressed.

The congressman expressed enthusiasm about Trump’s recent interactions with Congress, noting the unique enthusiasm and reception he received from both House and Senate members.

Trump returned to Capitol Hill on Thursday, his first visit since the events of Jan. 6, 2021. He was welcomed by energized Republicans eager to support his return to the White House. The BBC reported that Trump promised to work towards unity and address any lingering differences within the party.
