Rep. Steube Accuses Pending Trump Indictment of Constituting ‘Election Interference,’ Informs Newsmax
U.S. Representative Greg Steube of Florida believes that a pending federal indictment against former President Donald Trump for his alleged involvement in the events of January 6, 2021, is “100% election interference” by the Department of Justice (DOJ) against Joe Biden’s potential rival in the 2024 presidential race. Steube, a member of the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, stated that he was present at the Capitol on January 6th, heard Trump’s speech, and cannot understand what crime he would have committed. He claims that the DOJ is politically persecuting Trump and trying to indict him again at the behest of Biden. Trump is currently leading in the field of candidates for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. Steube believes that this indictment is an attempt by Biden’s DOJ to remove Trump, the leading contender, from the race.
