Rep. Van Drew tells Newsmax: DHS allows unrestricted flow of migrants through port of entry
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is allowing illegal immigrants to “flow through the port of entry,” according to Rep. Jeff Van Drew. Van Drew argues that this is not an improvement but is actually worse than ever. He also raises concerns about known terrorists who have entered the country illegally, claiming that the government only knows about those who have been caught, not those who have slipped through undetected. Van Drew warns that this issue affects the entire country, not just states on the border, as cartels have moved into the United States and are engaging in criminal activities. Mayorkas recently testified before the House Judiciary Committee, where Republicans criticized the Biden administration’s immigration policies. They also blamed Mayorkas for the influx of fentanyl into the country, holding him responsible for the increase in fentanyl-related deaths. The Biden administration ended Title 42, a public health law implemented by the Trump administration to curb migration during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Mayorkas argued that illegal border crossings have been decreasing since the peak before Title 42 was implemented.
