Representative D’Esposito Urges Newsmax to Advocate for Calm Amid Johnson Situation

Rep. Anthony D’Esposito, R-N.Y., expressed his hope on Newsmax that House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., will be retained in his position, highlighting Johnson’s effective handling of challenging situations.

D’Esposito appeared on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America” and emphasized the importance of Republican unity to maintain majority in the upcoming elections.

He addressed the issue of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s motion to vacate House Speaker Johnson due to his support of a spending bill, noting that several representatives have shown support for Greene’s motion.

Regarding the need for unity within the Republican Conference, D’Esposito mentioned names of potential supporters of Greene’s motion and highlighted the importance of maintaining focus on securing Republican wins in November.

While acknowledging some dissatisfaction with recent foreign aid legislation, D’Esposito commended Speaker Johnson’s efforts and described the bills passed as the best possible scenario for supporting allies.
