Republicans Lead Democrats in NBC News Poll for 2024 Election
According to NBC News poll, Republicans have a 4-point lead over Democrats on a generic congressional ballot for the upcoming election.
The latest NBC News survey found that 49% of respondents preferred Republicans to win control of Congress in November, while 45% preferred Democrats. This has increased the GOP’s lead from 47% to 45%.
With 219-213 edge in the House and trying to turn a current 51-49 U.S. Senate minority into a majority, Republicans are in a strong position.
The poll also revealed that 36% of respondents consider themselves to be moderate, followed by 19% very conservative, 18% somewhat conservative, 13% somewhat liberal, and 11% very liberal.
When it comes to economic circumstances, 43% of respondents identified as middle class, 27% as working class, and 18% as upper middle class.
The poll also showed concerning news for President Joe Biden and Democrats, with Biden experiencing a new low in his approval rating (37%) and trailing Donald Trump by 5 points in the national poll.
Despite his legal obstacles, the poll found that Trump would remain within the margin of error in a matchup against Biden, even if convicted of a crime.
The NBC News poll was conducted Jan. 26-30 among 1,000 registered voters, with 52% women and 48% men.
