Robert Hur: Evidence Contradicts Biden’s Statements
During public testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, the lead investigator revealed that President Joe Biden’s statements regarding classified documents and special counsel Robert Hur’s investigation are “inconsistent” with the evidence.
Responding to Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., Hur stated that Biden’s statements are not in line with the findings from the evidence presented in the report.
Gaetz pointed out the careful wording of Hur’s response and suggested that Biden’s statements could be considered lies by regular people.
Hur did not directly respond to Gaetz’s accusation but acknowledged that some of Biden’s statements were inconsistent with their investigation findings.
Throughout the testimony, Hur emphasized the “senile cooperator theory” as a factor in not finding Biden guilty, despite the evidence suggesting otherwise. The investigation report did not address the Penn Biden Center’s ties to Chinese funding, and Hur did not pursue charges against the Biden ghostwriter for deleting evidence.
Following hours of interviews with Biden, the full transcript was made public, shedding light on the discrepancies between Biden’s statements and the evidence presented in Hur’s report.
Hur’s testimony also touched on his future aspirations and his return to private law practice after concluding his role as special counsel in the investigation.
