Roger Stone accuses Michael Cohen of dishonesty in Newsmax interview, questions why federal authorities declined to pursue New York case.

According to Roger Stone, Michael Cohen’s testimony in former President Donald Trump’s criminal trial in New York this week demonstrated why federal prosecutors decided not to pursue charges. Stone shared his thoughts with Newsmax on Tuesday.

“You now see exactly why federal prosecutors in the U.S. attorney’s office in the Southern District of New York extensively reviewed all these transactions, questioned Michael Cohen, presented him to a grand jury, and ultimately chose not to press charges,” Stone told “Eric Bolling The Balance.” “That’s because he’s completely not credible.”

Stone, an experienced figure in Republican presidential campaigns and a former campaign adviser to Trump, expressed his disbelief at the trial brought by Democrat Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, calling it surreal.

Stone noted the stark contrast in reporting between mainstream media outlets like NBC, which portrayed Cohen’s testimony as damaging to Trump, and sources like the New York Post that provided a different perspective. Stone highlighted comments from legal analyst Jonathan Turley, who suggested that Cohen’s testimony did not implicate Trump in questionable transactions Cohen carried out independently.

Stone referenced Cohen’s admission to setting up a company to pay Stormy Daniels, a move Stone believes may have led to the wrong party being indicted by Bragg.
