Roger Stone tells Newsmax why federal prosecutors passed on bringing a New York case against Michael Cohen due to his duplicity
During Michael Cohen’s testimony in former President Donald Trump’s criminal trial in New York, Roger Stone told Newsmax on Tuesday that federal prosecutors did not pursue charges because they found Cohen to be noncredible.
Stone, a veteran of Republican presidential campaigns, criticized the case brought by Democrat Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, describing it as being like an alternate universe.
He pointed out the contrasting reports on Cohen’s testimony, indicating that Cohen’s credibility was in question. Stone highlighted discrepancies in the accounts, such as Cohen’s involvement in financial transactions and payments to Stormy Daniels.
Stone suggested that the charges brought against Trump were misplaced and that Cohen was not a reliable witness in the case.
