Rosen Embraces Working-Class Roots, Spends $12K on Upscale Accommodations and Dining
Senator Jacky Rosen, a Democrat from Nevada, has reportedly spent thousands of dollars at luxury hotels and fine dining restaurants while campaigning for reelection on her working-class roots. Campaign finance disclosures show that her campaign spent about $12,500 at upscale hotels and high-end restaurants in cities like New York City, Las Vegas, and Dallas between January and June. While there is no evidence of campaign finance law violations, critics argue that the spending raises concerns and contributes to the distrust between politicians and the average American citizen. Some of the expenditures include a payment of $5,600 at a three-Michelin star French restaurant in Manhattan and two payments totaling $799 at an Italian restaurant in Las Vegas. The campaign also spent money at Nobu in Dallas, where a bottle of wine costs $1,890 and a premium tasting menu costs $200. Critics claim that these spending habits demonstrate Senator Rosen’s elitism and contradict her image as a champion of working-class Americans.
