Rosie O’Donnell, the former comedian and talk show host known for her criticisms of Donald Trump, has recently expressed skepticism regarding the integrity of the 2024 election, calling for an investigation into Elon Musk for allegedly aiding Trump’s presidential campaign.

Though Musk acquired X, the platform previously known as Twitter, from Jack Dorsey and others, O’Donnell made an odd assertion that Musk “owns and controls” the entire internet.

In a Friday interview, O’Donnell, who has relocated to Ireland since Trump’s victory, stated, “Why is it that for the first time in American history, a president has won every swing state while also having as his closest ally and largest donor someone who allegedly runs the internet?”

“I hope this matter is thoroughly investigated to determine whether the events of election night were an anomaly or indicative of something more, especially when Kamala Harris was filling stadiums of supporters while Donald Trump could not.”

O’Donnell further stressed, “As an American who values democracy, I hope we can examine all the factors that led to this situation in our nation.”

O’Donnell criticized Trump for his decision to sign an executive order aimed at dismantling the Department of Education.

“He has disbanded the Department of Education, which denies services not only to my child who has autism but to countless other autistic children, as funding for these vital programs comes from both state and federal levels,” she remarked.

“This will be a disaster for children on the spectrum. What makes this more alarming than his first term in office is the Supreme Court granting him unprecedented powers akin to a monarch. That is not what America stands for, and it poses a frightening prospect for both our country and the world,” she added.

Additionally, O’Donnell disclosed that she penned an apology to Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin following his encounter with Trump at the White House earlier this month, where a reporter inquired about her arrival in Ireland.

Trump commented, “Why on earth would you allow Rosie O’Donnell to move to Ireland? I think she will diminish your happiness. Do you know who she is? You’re better off not knowing.”

“I felt disturbed that they placed the taoiseach (Irish prime minister) in such a position and didn’t accord him the respect due to a leader visiting the White House. I sent a brief apology via email to the taoiseach and received a response acknowledging it. I simply wanted to clarify the history and why [Trump] seems to have a personal vendetta against me,” O’Donnell explained.

The long-standing feud between Trump and O’Donnell dates back to 2006 when she criticized him as a host on “The View.”

“The president of the United States has had it out for me for 20 years,” she claimed. “He often uses me as a punchline whenever he finds the need.”
