On Tuesday, O’Donnell shared in a TikTok video that she moved to Ireland on January 15th with her 12-year-old daughter, Dakota.

“It’s been really wonderful, I must admit. The people here are incredibly loving, kind, and welcoming. I am very grateful,” O’Donnell, 62, shared in the video.

She went on to explain that she is “in the process” of obtaining her Irish citizenship due to her grandparents’ origins in Ireland.

“I never imagined I would move to another country, but I felt it was what was best for me and my 12-year-old child. So here we are,” O’Donnell elaborated.

Despite her positive experience, O’Donnell expressed that she misses her other family members.

“I’m happy here. Clay is happy. I miss my other kids, my friends, and various aspects of life back home. I’m working on establishing a home in this beautiful country. When it’s safe for all citizens to have equal rights in America, we’ll consider returning,” she said.

O’Donnell also referenced policies enacted by Trump, saying, “It’s been devastating to witness the current political climate, and it’s personally challenging for me as well. The personal is political, as many understand.”

She concluded her video by offering “sound advice” to her fans.

“Protect your sanity as best as you can. Try not to get lost in the chaos if you can avoid it, though I understand it can be nearly impossible when you’re in the midst of it,” she advised her followers.

“I think about everyone daily, along with the United States of America. I hope we can turn the situation around, relying on all of you to do what’s right. Deep down, I believe we all know what that is.”

Other notable figures who have relocated following the election of the 47th president include the disgraced television host Ellen DeGeneres, actress Portia de Rossi, and actress Eva Longoria.
