Rob Schneider, known for his time on “Saturday Night Live,” along with Cheryl Hines, wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has reportedly proposed a conservative talk show intended to compete with “The View.”

As per a report from Status, the pair pitched their concept to Patrick Soon-Shiong, a South African-born physician and entrepreneur who acquired the Los Angeles Times in 2018, last month.
Allegedly, Soon-Shiong welcomed the stars to his El Segundo offices for a tour of the newsroom, during which Schneider shared his idea.
While Schneider’s spokesperson confirmed the comedian’s meeting with Soon-Shiong, they did not provide details on whether they discussed collaborating on a show.
“Rob had a great meeting with Mr. Soon-Shiong and appreciated the new direction the LA Times is pursuing,” his representative stated.
Since acquiring the LA Times, Soon-Shiong has prevented the paper from endorsing Kamala Harris and reportedly “required” the editorial board to email him “the text of each editorial and the name of its writer” prior to publication.
Moreover, he instructed the editorial board members to “pause writing about” President-elect Donald Trump.
In December, it was reported that the billionaire was working on a “bias meter” for every article published by the newspaper.
Schneider’s proposal comes after a report from The New York Post indicating that executives at the parent company of ABC, Disney, were in a state of “panic” searching for conservative voices to diversify political opinions showcased.
Currently, “The View” features hosts Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin. The controversial ABC talk show frequently criticizes conservatives and recently had to issue four “legal notes” during a broadcast.
The hosts were discussing allegations regarding cabinet nominees for President-elect Donald Trump.
