Secret Service Refutes Allegations of Attempting to Obtain Hunter Biden’s Firearm Documents

The Secret Service is sticking to its denials that its agents attempted to take paperwork from a gun store in Wilmington, Delaware, where Hunter Biden purchased a gun, which was later disposed of by his late brother’s widow, Hallie Biden, with whom he was having an affair.

“There is no change in our statement,” stated Anthony Guglielmi, chief of communications for the U.S. Secret Service, in response to inquiries about a filing from special counsel David Weiss indicating that the FBI had interviewed Ron Palimere, the owner of StarQuest Shooter, as reported by the New York Post on Tuesday.

In the court filings, Palimere mentioned that Secret Service agents and the Delaware State Police were present at his business on Oct. 24, 2018, the day following the disappearance of Biden’s .38-caliber revolver.

The Secret Service previously refuted claims in 2021 that there was any involvement by its agents in the incident. At that time, the Biden family was not under the protection of the Secret Service.

“We were aware of the allegations made at that time but could not find any evidence to support them independently,” said Guglielmi regarding Palimere’s account.

According to a recent FBI interview, Palimere shared that Biden visited the store on Oct. 12, 2018, and was recognized by employees as a “celebrity-type customer.” Palimere, aware of Biden’s father’s stance on guns, quickly completed the transaction to avoid negative effects on the store’s reputation.

Palimere recalled that 12 days later, both the Delaware State Police and the Secret Service separately inquired about the paperwork completed during Biden’s gun purchase. The agencies sought to expedite the trace process and access Form 4473, which was “related to a certain case.”

Palimere noted that the questions posed by both agencies were similar, suggesting they were unaware of each other’s investigations. Consequently, Palimere sought advice from ATF special agent Jason Reisch and decided not to provide the original Form 4473 to anyone unless deemed necessary.

The Secret Service stated to the Post that they could not verify the gun shop owner’s assertions, noting that the claim came from store personnel and not federal agents, as documented in court filings.

Eventually, Palimere handed over the paperwork to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

Details of the gun purchase emerged from a text message found on Hunter Biden’s laptop, where he revealed that the Secret Service responded after Hallie Biden discarded the gun she retrieved from his trunk lockbox into a trash can at a Wilmington grocery store.

Biden is facing charges related to misrepresenting his crack cocaine addiction during the gun purchase. He has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for trial on June 3.

In filings from Monday night, prosecutors in the case plan to call three of Biden’s former partners as witnesses: his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, Hallie Biden, and Lunden Roberts, a woman from Arkansas and mother of one of his children.
