Senator Ron Johnson, a Republican from Wisconsin and the chair of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, pledged to engage with President Donald Trump to propose exemptions for his extensive tariffs on foreign imports, stating, “to ensure that businesses can withstand these challenges.”
