Sen. Ron Johnson calls for Convention Protest Zone to be relocated.
Senator Ron Johnson has urged the Secret Service to move protesters further away from the Republican National Convention scheduled for July 15-18 in Milwaukee, citing concerns about a nearby park becoming a potential site for mayhem.
Johnson expressed his worries during an interview with NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday.” He pointed out that the protest zone is only a block away from the convention site and lacks proper security measures. He has raised these concerns with the Secret Service director and expects additional security measures to be implemented.
According to Johnson, the recent riots and heightened political divisions warrant extra precautions for the event. He emphasized the need for the Secret Service to address this security issue promptly.
Furthermore, Johnson commented on reports suggesting a potential return to the bipartisan border bill and criticized President Biden’s approach to border control. He highlighted his opposition to the bill and questioned Biden’s motives regarding border policies.
In addition, Johnson expressed confidence in former President Trump’s chances in Wisconsin and emphasized the importance of mobilizing Republican voters in the state.
