Sen. Tim Scott Pledges to Complete Border Wall as Future President
Senator Tim Scott, a Republican candidate for president, has vowed to finish the border wall started during the Trump administration and implement surveillance technology to combat the fentanyl crisis if elected. During an interview, Scott blamed President Biden for the surge in fentanyl deaths and illegal immigration, criticizing his administration for not taking action to secure the border. Scott recently visited the southern border in Arizona as part of his campaign. He joins Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who have also made visits to the border this summer while campaigning for the GOP nomination. The construction of a border wall was a significant part of Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016, but Biden’s administration halted construction and reduced funding for it after taking office. Despite trailing Trump in the polls, Scott remains optimistic about his campaign’s prospects and believes that the voters in Iowa are looking for an optimistic and conservative message. He is confident that his campaign will reach the finish line first.
