Senator Cotton Believes Both the US and Israel Require Trump’s Leadership
The Gaza war and the anti-Israel demonstrations at U.S. college campuses both highlight the leadership differences between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, as stated by Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark.
During an appearance on Hugh Hewitt’s podcast on Tuesday, Cotton criticized Biden’s lack of immediate support for Israel against Hamas following the terrorists’ invasion and massacre on Oct. 7.
Cotton explained to Hewitt that if Biden had unequivocally backed Israel from the start, they would have been able to swiftly take action against Hamas, ending the civilian suffering in Gaza sooner rather than later.
He also expressed confidence that if Trump was reelected in November and reinstated as president, Israel would benefit greatly from his strong leadership and unwavering support.
Furthermore, Cotton mentioned that under a Trump administration, the anti-Israel protests on college campuses would be addressed differently, ensuring law and order were maintained.
Discussing the comparison between Trump and Biden’s foreign policy approaches, Cotton emphasized how threats from nations like Russia and Iran were handled more effectively during Trump’s presidency.
In closing, Cotton likened Biden’s response to Putin, Iran, and Hamas as being reactive like “an elephant on a table” compared to Trump’s proactive and strong stance on protecting American interests.
