Senator Cruz accuses Biden and Democrats of funding death squads in an interview with Newsmax on Oct. 7

Sen. Ted Cruz, in a conversation with John Huddy at Newsmax, accused President Joe Biden and Democrats of backing the groups that attacked Israel on Oct. 7 and funding the ongoing war against Israel since then.

“It’s undeniable,” the Texas Republican argued during his interview, which will air Sunday on Newsmax‘s “Sunday Agenda.” He claimed that the Biden administration has funneled $100 billion to Iran, a key sponsor of Hamas, in recent years.

The bulk of this funding came from Biden’s refusal to enforce oil sanctions against Iran, established by former President Donald Trump, resulting in $80 billion. An additional $6 billion was spent as ransom for American prisoners, with $10 billion in assets being unfrozen.

“Before Joe Biden took office, the Trump administration, at my urging, strictly enforced oil sanctions, causing Iranian oil exports to drop from a million to 300,000 barrels a day,” Cruz explained. “When Joe Biden assumed office, Iran’s economy was on the verge of collapse, but he immediately halted the enforcement of these sanctions.”

This move led to a surge in Iran’s oil revenues, now exceeding 2 million barrels a day.

“That $80 billion, in a very direct manner, supported those violent groups,” Cruz emphasized.

Furthermore, Cruz stressed the imperative for the United States to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, as they pose a significant threat to American lives. He expressed concerns about potential nuclear attacks on Tel Aviv, New York, or Los Angeles and emphasized the necessity of halting Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

The senator commended the Israeli military’s successful rescue of four hostages in Gaza, praising the “exceptional heroism of the IDF.”

He urged unwavering support for Israel as it aims to eradicate Hamas and condemned the Biden administration as the “most anti-Israel White House” in history.

Reflecting on the 80th anniversary of the D-Day invasion, Cruz lauded the valor of the veterans who participated in the operation.

In closing, Cruz reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to backing Israel and preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
