Senator James Lankford Tells Newsmax: Border Guards are an Effective ‘Force Multiplier’
According to Senator James Lankford, Border Patrol agents are grateful for the deployment of National Guard forces to the southern border by states in response to the open border policies of the Biden administration. Lankford stated that Border Patrol officials appreciate the increased manpower provided by the National Guard, as Mexican drug and human cartels continue to smuggle drugs and engage in human trafficking along the border. The National Guard presence allows them to access areas that they would not be able to reach otherwise.
Lankford also criticized the Department of Homeland Security, claiming that they are manipulating the numbers of illegal border crossings to make it appear as though the border is secure. He accused the DHS of changing their counting methods and allowing individuals to check in on an app before crossing the border, so that they are not counted as illegal entries. However, these individuals are still ultimately released into the country and often wait years for a court hearing.
Lankford also addressed the health situations of several senators and emphasized that the decision on whether they should continue in their roles should be left to the voters in their respective states. He stressed the importance of protecting the rights of the republic.
