Senator JD Vance Argues That Michael Cohen Is Not Credible

U.S. Sens. JD Vance, R-Ohio, and Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., and Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., attended Donald Trump’s Manhattan criminal trial on Monday in a show of support for the former president.

Vance, referring to the trial as “a disgrace,” shared that he aimed to voice some sentiments that Trump has been restrained from saying due to Judge Juan Merchan’s gag order.

“The judge overseeing the trial, his daughter is actively involved in raising money for Donald Trump’s political opponents,” Vance commented. “Additionally, the No. 3 official at Biden’s Department of Justice, Matthew Colangelo, left his position to pursue prosecuting Donald Trump. Furthermore, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who is funded by progressive billionaire George Soros, openly declared his intention to go after Trump and is now doing exactly that.”

Vance also touched upon the testimony of former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, the key witness for the prosecution, who began his testimony on Monday morning.

“From what I’ve seen so far, Michael Cohen, a convicted felon, who admitted to secretly recording his former employer, is the star witness for the prosecution,” Vance expressed. “Can anyone in their right mind believe anything that Michael Cohen says? I doubt it.

“I believe his testimony may actually backfire with any rational juror, and hopefully there are a few of those.”

Tuberville expressed his disappointment at the lack of respect shown towards Trump in the courtroom.

“I am dismayed by the lack of respect shown to former President Trump in the courtroom,” Tuberville remarked. “There should be a level of respect given to him. The atmosphere in that courtroom is disheartening. This trial is nothing but an attempt to push mental anguish onto the Republican presidential candidate.”

Malliotakis labeled the trial as “a sham.”

“The American people are aware that this trial is nothing but a sham, relying on a star witness [Cohen] who is a disbarred perjurer and has a track record of lying,” she stated.
