Senator Marco Rubio calls for GOP to ban TSA’s Pro-Illegals Flight Policy

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., emphasized the need for Republicans to take the lead in putting an end to the Biden administration’s controversial immigration policies, particularly allowing illegal migrants to board flights with only an arrest warrant as identification.

Rubio expressed his opposition to the Transportation Safety Administration’s 2-year-old policy that permits illegal migrants to fly within the U.S. without a photo ID or verified information.

In an article published in Newsweek, Rubio referred to the policy as a “blatant mockery” of U.S. law.

“Thankfully, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization bill this year presents an opportunity to reevaluate the questionable flight regulations catering to illegal immigrants,” Rubio stated. “Congress must take action to prohibit the use of arrest warrants as a form of identification.”

Rubio cautioned that the Biden administration’s leniency towards this policy could have severe consequences and highlighted the importance of flight safety measures implemented after the events of September 11, 2001.

He also criticized President Biden for failing to revoke the policy, attributing it to his reluctance to acknowledge the effectiveness of previous administration’s policies.

Last year, Rubio and Rep. Lance Gooden, R-Texas, reintroduced the SECURE Flights Act to ban the use of arrest warrants as IDs for illegal migrants. Rubio is urging the Senate to amend the FAA reauthorization bill to enforce more sensible restrictions.

“Securing flights against illegal immigrants and individuals who have not been properly vetted is a common-sense approach that most Americans support,” Rubio concluded. “However, it seems that Democrats are opposed to this necessary reform.”

He emphasized the importance of leaders prioritizing the safety and well-being of the American people and called on his colleagues to support these initiatives.
