Senator Marco Rubio firmly states that Russia will not be able to take control of half of Ukraine.
In a televised interview on Sunday, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., stated that Vladimir Putin will not achieve his goal of taking “all of Ukraine or half of Ukraine.” He emphasized the need for the war to come to the negotiation table.
Rubio highlighted that it is time for a “negotiated settlement,” as suggested by former President Donald Trump. He discussed the reality of the situation, noting that neither side will be able to achieve victory in idealistic terms.
Therefore, Rubio stressed the importance of aiding Ukraine to give them leverage in negotiations. He expressed his support for providing assistance to Ukraine but emphasized the need to prioritize border security.
Ultimately, Rubio hopes to achieve a resolution that addresses both the crisis at the U.S. border and the conflict in Ukraine. He urged the president to reverse executive orders that have contributed to the migrant crisis at the border.
