Senator Rand Paul Tells Newsmax to Acknowledge that COVID Originated from a Laboratory
According to Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Dr. Anthony Fauci and the National Institute of Health are attempting to cover up the origins of COVID-19 to avoid admitting it was created in a lab. Speaking on Newsmax on Tuesday, Paul compared their actions to those of China in withholding information and blocking access to data.
Paul expressed surprise that the U.S. government would engage in such behavior, echoing concerns about the lack of transparency regarding research at a Wuhan lab where he believes COVID-19 originated. Despite evidence pointing to the lab, Fauci and the NIH continue to deny any involvement in gain of function research.
Paul highlighted the conflicting statements made by Fauci and the acting head of the NIH regarding gain of function research at the Wuhan lab. He also mentioned private emails from Fauci expressing concerns about the lab origins of the virus.
Paul warned that dangerous research like this is being conducted globally, posing the risk of future pandemics worse than COVID-19. He announced plans to propose legislation to oversee and regulate risky laboratory research.
