Senator Roger Marshall tells Newsmax that President Biden was very angry during the State of the Union address.

President Joe Biden appeared “so angry” during his State of the Union address, especially when mentioning the name of Georgia murder victim Laken Riley, mistakenly pronouncing it as “Lincoln Riley,” said Sen. Roger Marshall on Newsmax Friday. 

“This is the disconnect,” the Kansas Republican told Newsmax’s “Wake Up America.” “He had the name, even written in front of him, Laken Riley, a nursing student from Georgia.”

Biden’s remarks about the murdered nursing student came after Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., confronted him before the speech. A Venezuelan immigrant has been charged with Riley’s murder. 

“My wife is a nurse,” Marshall told Newsmax. “I’m a physician working with nurses. I mean, this story hurts all of America, and she’s become the face of the criminal element of the 10 million people who crossed the border illegally under Joe Biden.”

According to Marshall, Biden failed to take responsibility, much like how he fails to acknowledge the opioid crisis in the country. 

Marshall criticized Biden for shifting focus to Ukraine during his speech instead of addressing domestic issues, particularly the open border policy. 

Biden’s delivery and demeanor during the speech also raised concerns about his mental and physical health, with Marshall noting that Biden appeared emotionally unstable and struggled to communicate clearly.
