Senator Sullivan Speaks with Newsmax, Suggests Biden Fears Imposing Sanctions on Iran
Sen. Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, told Newsmax on Monday that one issue in the current situation in the Middle East is the significant increase in Iran’s financial prowess since Joe Biden became president. In just three years, Iran’s foreign reserves have grown to $75 billion, a stark contrast to the $4 billion they had when President Trump left office.
Sullivan expressed the need to reinstate sanctions on Iran, citing a lack of action from Biden due to fear. He emphasized the importance of both kinetic and non-kinetic measures, such as military force and sanctions, to address the situation.
He criticized the Biden administration for their “appeasement of Iran” and reluctance to impose sanctions on the oil and gas regime. Sullivan highlighted the dangerous implications of Iran using their increased reserves to fund extremist groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.
