Senator Vance Proudly Advocates for Trump in Senate
Sen. J.D. Vance, a Republican politician potentially on former President Donald Trump’s list of running mates, emphasized the importance of getting Trump elected president. He expressed his willingness to advocate for Trump’s agenda in the Senate as a means of serving the people of Ohio. Vance made these statements during an interview on CBS News’ “Face the Nation.” While discussing the vice-presidential position, Vance acknowledged that the ultimate goal is to support Trump in his presidential campaign.
Vance highlighted the necessity for Trump to defeat President Joe Biden and emphasized the stark contrast between the two administrations in terms of domestic inflation and foreign policy. He cited Trump’s record of peace and prosperity at home as a strong platform for his re-election.
During a recent gathering with potential vice-presidential candidates in New York, Vance voiced his support for Trump and his efforts to raise campaign resources. He criticized Biden’s adoption of Trump’s tariff policies and accused him of prioritizing green energy jobs over the industrial sector.
Vance advocated for the protection of American industries through the implementation of tariffs on Chinese goods. He highlighted the importance of bringing back good jobs to the heartland and criticized China’s use of slave labor to gain a competitive advantage.
Furthermore, Vance discussed the need for taxpayer accountability in American universities. He defended his approval of certain policies enacted by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban regarding government control over universities. Vance stressed the importance of taxpayers having a say in how their money is spent on higher education.
While acknowledging that he does not endorse all of Orban’s decisions, Vance praised his stance on taxpayer influence in universities as a reasonable approach. He believes that the United States could learn from Orban’s policies in this regard.
