Shaffer Says White House Following Similar Navalny Policy to Trump’s on Newsmax
Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer expressed surprise at the Biden administration’s pursuit of a policy similar to that employed by Russian President Vladimir Putin against political opponent Alexei Navalny in an apparent attempt to “get rid of” former President Donald Trump.
Navalny, Putin’s most formidable domestic opponent, died on Friday after falling unconscious following a walk at the “Polar Wolf” Arctic penal colony where he was serving a three-decade sentence, authorities said.
“He was very articulate, very charismatic. He was someone who was actually trying to do things to change the Russian system,” Shaffer said Friday during an appearance on Newsmax‘s “Chris Salcedo Show.”
Shaffer also expressed surprise at the Biden administration’s similar policy to get rid of Trump, referring to the four criminal indictments Trump faces in four cities as he vies to reclaim the White House.
