Solicitor General Nominee: May Challenge Court Rulings in ‘Exceptional Circumstances’



President Donald Trump’s nominee for solicitor general, D. John Sauer, informed senators during his confirmation hearing on Wednesday that in “extreme cases,” it is possible for an elected official to disregard a court order if deemed morally necessary.
