State Representative Harrison Calls Biden’s Border Visit a ‘Disgraceful Photo-op’ in Interview with Newsmax

Texas state Rep. Brian Harrison, R-Midlothian, criticized President Joe Biden’s visit to Texas, calling it a “disgraceful photo-op” during an interview on Newsmax Thursday.

Harrison suggested that Biden’s Texas agenda should include issuing an apology and a $10 billion reimbursement check to cover the state’s expenses in securing the southern border.

“If President Biden came to Texas with an apology, a $10 billion check to repay us for our border efforts, and a renewed commitment to securing the border as required by the Constitution and federal law, then I would be satisfied,” said Harrison, who served as the chief of staff of the Department of Health and Human Services under former President Donald Trump.

Harrison emphasized the importance of securing the border and criticized Biden’s visit as merely a publicity stunt, suggesting that Biden should return to Washington, D.C., instead of engaging in a photo op.

During his appearance on “America Agenda,” Harrison continued to criticize Biden’s handling of the border crisis, describing it as an “invasion” created and enabled by the current administration.

Harrison further highlighted the importance of enforcing immigration laws, claiming that Biden is neglecting over 700 pages of existing immigration laws.

He also criticized Biden’s administration for opposing state efforts to address illegal immigration, including a law in Texas that made illegal entry a state crime.

In addition, Harrison accused Biden of prioritizing conflict with Texas over combating cartels and human smugglers, which he believes were created by Biden’s open border policies.
