Statements by Columbia Protesters Deemed ‘Dangerous and Appalling’

Recent statements made by Khymani James, a student spokesperson for a pro-Palestinian group at Columbia University, have been condemned by the White House. In a video from January, James stated, “Zionists don’t deserve to live,” and went on to say, “Be grateful that I’m not just going out and murdering Zionists.”

White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates described James’ comments as “dangerous” and “appalling,” emphasizing that advocating for the murder of Jews is unacceptable.

Following backlash over a separate social media post involving a confrontation with a Zionist, James issued an apology, acknowledging that his statements were wrong. As a result, he was banned from the Columbia University campus.

In light of these events, the White House has reaffirmed its stance against antisemitic behavior and condemned any calls for violence or intimidation directed at the Jewish community on college campuses.
