SUNY Buffalo State Evicts Migrants From Dormitories

SUNY Buffalo State University has expelled 44 migrants from its dorms following concerns from parents about student safety after two alleged sexual assaults involving migrants. The university abruptly canceled its agreement with a local community group that had placed the migrants in student housing. The decision was made after parents expressed alarm over the sexual assaults that occurred in the nearby town of Cheektowaga. The university president did not mention the alleged assaults in her comments about the decision. Erie County, which includes Buffalo, has demanded that New York City Mayor Eric Adams stop transporting migrants to the area. The county will receive additional National Guard personnel and assets to assist with the migrants. So far, approximately 540 migrants have been relocated to Erie County.
