Supreme Court Upholds Mississippi’s Felon Voting Restrictions




The U.S. Supreme Court chose not to review a challenge regarding Mississippi’s lifetime prohibition on voting for individuals convicted of various felonies. This policy, instituted in 1890 during the Jim Crow period, remains one of the most stringent voting restrictions in the country.
